January 2018 Housing Market Report [INFOGRAPHIC]

Housing statistics for the Richmond metro area are out for January and they support what we have been saying for the past couple of quarters. Market supply is tight, driving up the average cost of homes sold in this area. The average sale price rose from $251,977 in 2017 to $271,006 for 2018. The total number of condos sold compared to the previous year is down 19% due to tight market conditions. Supply and Demand – there is a tight supply for all housing currently. This should ease a bit as we move into the spring market.

Working with Curt Reichstetter and April during my recent homebuying experience was really terrific. I’d recommend this team of professionals to anyone in search of a new home. April really stepped up and ‘dug her heels in’ on my behalf during the closing process, turning what might have been a loss into a win. I’m very grateful to both Curt and April for their knowledge and expertise to bring the sale over the finish line!
