Housing statistics for the Richmond metro area are out for January and they support what we have been saying for the past couple of quarters. Market supply is tight, driving up the average cost of homes sold in this area. The average sale price rose from $251,977 in 2017 to $271,006 for 2018. The total number of condos sold compared to the previous year is down 19% due to tight market conditions. Supply and Demand – there is a tight supply for all housing currently. This should ease a bit as we move into the spring market.
