“The Rivah”: Middle Peninsula Real Estate
Located between the Rappahannock River to the north and the York River to the south. The Middle Peninsula contains the towns of Tappahannock, West Point, Urbanna, Deltaville, and the town of Mathews.
On the northeast end of the middle peninsula bordered by the Rappahannock River to the north, the Piankatank River to the south, and Chesapeake Bay to the east. The towns of Urbanna, home to the famous Urbanna Oyster Festival, and Deltaville. It has many creeks and marinas such as the Urbanna Creek, Locklies Creek (where Merrior and Rappahannock oysters are located), and Broad Creek and Fishing Bay, sailboat capital of Virginia. The Piankatank River Golf Club is also in Middlesex County. Those that fly their own plans, the area’s airport. Hummel Field, is there.
With its sand beaches and deep rivers, Mathews is a hidden gem. Home to Gwynns ISland, the town of Mathews and Mobjack Bay. It also has the Piankatank River, North River, and the East River, creeks such as Cobbs Creek, Winter Harbor, and Queens Creek. It has several public beaches, restaurants and art galleries in the town of Mathews.
Bounded by the York River, Mobjack Bay, and part of the Piankatank River. Home to the Historic Gloucester Courthouse and just across the bridge from Yorktown. Many creeks and rivers flow through Gloucester, such as the Severn River, Water River, and Sarah Creek.
