    The third most populous county in Virginia, Chesterfield County is where Pocahontas once lived, the first college was established, the first tobacco crops grown to sell to England and the first American hospital built.     • Chester
      A primarily residential area offering historical landmarks and suburban ease of living. The original “downtown” in the heart of Chester was a railway stop on the Richmond & Petersburg Railroad and site of battle during the Civil War.
    • Enon
      Located just east of Chester, this area was largely undeveloped until the development of the River’s Bend Golf Course and community.

    • Chesdin Landing
      Regarded as the “ultimate” in the waterfront and golfing lifestyle, this 3,000 acre residential community is located at Lake Chesdin with homes on lots up to 4 acres and prices ranging from the upper $450,000s to $5 million. Amenities include a recreational lake with thousands of acres of surface area, a private championship golf course, lighted tennis courts, health club with trainers, full service restaurant, competition size pool, club house, and miles of walking trails.
    • Etterick
      A small community of less than 10,000 residents, Etterick is home is to Virginia State University and the Petersburg Amtrak train station. Most of Etterick has a Petersburg mailing address even though it is not within the city of Petersburg.
    • Harrowgate
      Located east of Chester with less than 10,000 residents, this is a mostly residential community with about 2,700 single-family homes.
    • Meadowbrook
      With a location of approximately 19,000, this area features the prestigious Meadowbrook Country Club, now partnered with Chesdin Country Club offering dual memberships.
    • Winterpock
      Located in southwestern portion of the county, this area features excellent schools, historical landmarks, and a diverse mix of small single-family residences to large stately homes in a rural setting, all with suburban convenience.

    • Brandermill
      Located in the northwestern part of the county, this once isolated rural community is now major suburban residential and commercial development centering around Swift Creek Reservoir with easy access to interstates and highways, only 18 miles from downtown Richmond.
    • Woodlake
      As one of the most successful planned communities in the nation, Woodlake has served as a model for others around the country. Offering a spectacular lakeside community with a range of home styles, excellent schools, churches, quaint shops, summer concerts, a day care and the Woodlake Swim & Racquet Club. Woodlake has been recognized numerous times by various Richmond organizations as one of the best communities to live in the Richmond area.
    • Midlothian (South of Midlothian Trnpk.)
      Rich with history, Midlothian was recently ranked by CNBC as the 6th Perfect Suburb to Live the Nation for its ideal mix of affordable housing, good schools, education levels, low crime, employment, and reasonable commutes.

    • Robious

    • Bon Air
      Originally developed as a resort, Bon Air reflects its unique history through Victorian-style architecture from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The central portion of Bon Air is designated as a National Historical District.
